Walk in the dark - Friday 21 November 2008

Come along for a walk with a difference. Meet at the Eagle and Child, Hurst Green at 7pm. Bring a torch. After the walk there will be pie and peas for £6.50 payable on the night. Leaders Jane Donnelly and Val Grooby.

Clitheroe Group AGM - Tuesday 25 November 2008

The AGM will be held at Clitheroe Cricket Club at 7.30pm. Please come to support your group. This is your opportunity to question the committee, elect committee members and put forward your ideas. After the business Alan Bibby will give a slide show.

Jane Donnelly presenting Pat with her present, a collage of photos particularly relevant to Pat over the last few years. They include photos and a map from the two walk books that we have published (and also a photo of Alfie, who accompanies her on many walks.) Pat was a founder member of the group, over 40 years ago, and is well known throughout the local area for her work as our Footpath Secretary.

Pat Parrott will be celebrating her 80th birthday in early September. To mark the occasion we will be having a small get together on Wednesday 3rd September after the Farm Visit at Whitewell. We will be meeting at the Newdrop Inn at 8.30/8.45pm for a drink with Pat, and there will be light refreshments. All members welcome.

The Group have received an email from Mick Whittaker with details about his wife, Joan.

"Hi to one and all. As some of you are aware Joan has not been on any walks lately. She is at present in Preston Royal Hospital. Joan is the one with the Pink Car and the little black dog. who was always in the front of the walk. Joan at present can hardly walk I am hoping this is not long term. We are waiting for the rheumatologist to see her for the second time. What I am asking is if any of you would like to send a get well card to her I am sure it will cheer her up as she is pretty well down at the moment as she was so very active.

Formally the Hyndburn Group Forum it has now been re-branded as the North East Lancashire Area Forum. and has a relevant section for all member Groups of the N E Lancs Area. Please do join in with the discussions.
